Privacy
RentingOnRecord has no accounts and nothing to sign in to. It records which parts of a page you opened, so we can tell whether anyone actually reads the evidence. It does not record what you type into the index filter. There is no third-party analytics.
RentingOnRecord is a public reference. There is nothing to log in to and no profile to build. We record three things: that a claim's evidence was opened, that the refused-claims list was opened, and how many subjects an index filter matched - never the filter text itself. This goes to Lotl Observe, our own self-hosted analytics on our own server. No third-party analytics, tag manager, font host or CDN runs on this site, and the content security policy blocks them. Every source we cite is an outbound link: following one takes you to that publisher, who has their own policy.
What we collect
We collect and store the following:
- Reading telemetry — RentingOnRecord records which parts of a page were opened - a claim’s evidence, the refused-claims list - and how many subjects an index filter matched. It does not record what you typed into the filter, and there is no account for any of it to be attached to. This goes to our own self-hosted analytics; no third-party analytics runs on this site.
Third parties
These external services receive some of your data:
- Australian government open-data services — consumer.vic.gov.au, legislation.vic.gov.au and vcat.vic.gov.au are quoted as sources and linked to; the site reads them when the corpus is built, never on a reader's behalf, and sends them nothing about you
- DigitalOcean — hosting for RentingOnRecord
Your rights
There is no account here, so there is nothing to log into, export or delete. We never learn who you are: the events we record carry no identifier and are not joined to anything. If you would rather send nothing at all, any content blocker that stops requests to observe.lotlsoft.com will do it, and the site works exactly the same without them.
